Anthropic Eyes $10B Nvidia Investment as Blockstream Refuses Liquid Hacker Ransom

Anthropic is in talks with Nvidia over a potential $10 billion investment that could anchor what may become the largest initial public offering in history, Reuters reported on Saturday. Citing unnamed sources familiar with the confidential negotiations, Reuters said Anthropic is seeking to raise as much as $100 billion at a valuation near $2 trillion. Nvidia, already an important customer of Anthropic, could serve as a strategic early backer in the deal, strengthening ties between the AI startup and the chipmaking giant. Anthropic declined to comment, while Nvidia had not responded to a request for comment at the time of publication.

Bitcoin Suisse is preparing to relocate up to half of its Swiss workforce overseas as the Zug-based crypto financial services firm restructures to expand internationally. According to a Friday report from Swiss financial publication Finews, the restructuring could affect as many as 60 of the company's 120 Swiss positions, primarily in back-office and administrative roles, with affected functions expected to move to lower-cost hubs in Bratislava and Vietnam. CEO Andrej Majcen told Finews that cost was the primary driver, not weakness in the crypto market, and described the move as part of a broader strategy to build out its wealth and asset management business.

Blockchain infrastructure company Blockstream confirmed Friday that it will not pay a ransom to recover funds still held by the 2021 Liquid Network hackers, who remain in possession of nearly 600 BTC. "Taking assets without authorization and withholding their return is a crime, not responsible disclosure," the company said. The statement reinforces Blockstream's earlier position that it will not negotiate with the attackers, even as the stolen Bitcoin has appreciated significantly in value since the original exploit. The Liquid Network heist, one of the most high-profile exchange-side breaches in crypto history, has resurfaced as a reference point for discussions around ransomware ethics and on-chain asset recovery.
