Anthropic Files for IPO, Targeting November Nasdaq Debut
Anthropic has filed an S-1 registration statement with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, paving the way for a potential initial public offering on the Nasdaq Global Select Market. The filing indicates that the AI company could list its Class A common stock under the ticker symbol ANT as early as mid-November 2026, although the final timing remains subject to regulatory and market conditions.
According to its disclosure, Anthropic generated more than $16 billion in revenue during the first half of 2026 but recorded an $80 billion net loss over the same period. The company reported holding more than $112 billion in cash and cash equivalents, plus $19 billion in short-term investments, as of June 30. Reports have also suggested that the IPO could raise as much as $100 billion at a valuation of $2 trillion.
Founded in 2021 by a group of former OpenAI executives, Anthropic is the developer behind the Claude AI assistant. Its filing marks a major step toward bringing one of the leading AI companies onto the public market and could create a new benchmark for valuations across the industry.
The Anthropic IPO is also taking place as competition around commercialization and public listings intensifies. OpenAI has reportedly postponed its own IPO plans, with CEO Sam Altman saying in September 2026 that it was an “ill-advised moment” to pursue a public offering.
