Binance Agent OS Opens Crypto Trading to AI Agents With User Controls

Binance has launched Agent OS, a developer platform that gives AI agents controlled access to its crypto exchange. Developers can connect tools including ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex and Cursor so agents can retrieve market data, monitor authorized account information and execute trades. The platform is designed to make Binance’s trading and onchain services accessible to AI applications while keeping permissions under the user’s control.

Users can assign agents to dedicated Binance subaccounts, separating each agent’s funds and activity from the main account. They can set trading permissions, limits and account-access rules, then revoke an agent’s authorization at any time. Binance says it can monitor transactions executed through Agent OS, but it cannot inspect the external information sources, reasoning or decision-making processes used inside a user’s chosen AI application.

Agent OS also connects agents to Binance payment services and onchain tools, enabling applications to interact with wallets and other blockchain services. The launch follows Coinbase’s June introduction of Coinbase for Agents, which supports account connections, automated crypto strategies and agent-driven payments through the x402 protocol. Kraken has taken a more cautious approach with an AI investing assistant that recommends trades but requires user approval before execution, while OKX has launched a beta marketplace where agents can find work, hire other agents and transact with stablecoins.

The developments reflect a broader push to make crypto infrastructure accessible to autonomous software. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong and Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire have predicted that AI agents could drive a significant share of onchain activity, while Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao has described cryptocurrency as the “native currency” of AI agents.
