Bitcoin ETFs Snap Two-Week Outflow Streak With $301M Weekly Inflow
US-listed spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds attracted approximately $301 million in net inflows last week, ending a two-week streak of withdrawals. The turnaround followed losses of about $228 million the previous week and $680 million the week before, according to Farside Investors data. Despite the weekly recovery, October remained net negative, with Bitcoin ETFs recording approximately $314 million in outflows.
The inflows were driven by an early-week rally. Bitcoin ETFs attracted $1.08 billion between Monday and Wednesday as BTC reached a weekly high of $84,777, according to CoinGecko. That momentum reversed on Thursday and Friday, when investors withdrew about $774 million as Bitcoin retreated toward $80,000. At publication, BTC traded at $80,025, down roughly 3.3% over the previous seven days.
Market maker DWF Labs found that ETF investors have repeatedly sold during Bitcoin declines. In research published Thursday, DWF Labs reported net outflows during seven of the eight Bitcoin sell-offs of at least 15% recorded since US spot Bitcoin ETFs launched in January 2024. “ETF investors aren’t the dip buyers people think they are,” DWF Labs said.
Sentiment also cooled as the recovery faded. The Crypto Fear & Greed Index fell to a neutral reading of 50 from 59, a level categorized as “Greed,” a week earlier. Meanwhile, US spot Ether ETFs posted their fourth consecutive week of net outflows, shedding approximately $221 million, according to Farside Investors.
