Bitcoin Suisse to Move Up to Half of Swiss Jobs to Slovakia and Vietnam
Bitcoin Suisse, the Swiss crypto financial services firm founded in Zug in 2013, plans to relocate up to half of its Swiss-based positions abroad as it expands its international wealth and asset management operations. According to a Friday report from Swiss financial publication Finews, the restructuring could affect up to 60 of the company's 120 positions in Switzerland, primarily targeting back-office and administrative roles rather than client-facing or technical staff.
CEO Andrej Majcen told Finews that cost efficiency was the primary driver behind the decision, noting that operating the affected functions in Slovakia and Vietnam would be significantly less expensive. Bitcoin Suisse plans to establish a presence in Bratislava and open a new office in Vietnam in the coming years to absorb the relocated roles. Majcen emphasized that the move is not a response to weakness in the crypto market but rather a strategic step to scale the company's global footprint and broaden its institutional offering.
The relocation comes alongside a series of international regulatory milestones for the firm. In June, Bitcoin Suisse announced it was expanding beyond its domestic Swiss market to target institutional clients, family offices, asset managers, and high-net-worth individuals as part of its evolution into a global wealth management platform. Earlier this year, the company secured licenses in Liechtenstein and Bermuda, while its Middle East subsidiary received full regulatory approval in Abu Dhabi in July. The combination of licensing wins and operational restructuring signals that Bitcoin Suisse is positioning itself for broader cross-border competition in institutional crypto services.
