Bitcoin Suisse to relocate up to 50% of Swiss roles to Bratislava and Vietnam

Bitcoin Suisse, the Swiss crypto financial services firm founded in Zug in 2013, plans to shift up to half of its domestic workforce abroad as it scales its international wealth and asset management operations. The restructuring could affect up to 60 of the company's 120 Swiss positions, primarily in back-office and administrative functions, according to a Friday report from Swiss financial publication Finews.

CEO Andrej Majcen told Finews that cost was a primary driver of the move, noting that operating the affected services in Slovakia and Vietnam would be significantly less expensive. Bratislava and a new Vietnam location will serve as the new hubs, with the company planning to establish the Vietnamese site over the coming years. Majcen emphasized that the restructuring is not a response to weakness in the crypto market, but rather part of a deliberate strategy to expand the firm's global footprint.

Bitcoin Suisse, which provides crypto trading, custody, staking, and lending services, has been accelerating its international push throughout 2026. In June, the company announced it was broadening its focus beyond Switzerland to target institutional clients, family offices, asset managers, and high-net-worth individuals as it evolves into a global wealth management platform. Earlier this year, the firm secured regulatory licenses in Liechtenstein and Bermuda, and its Middle East subsidiary received full regulatory approval from authorities in Abu Dhabi in July.

The planned relocation reflects a broader trend among crypto-focused financial firms seeking to balance regulatory access in tier-one jurisdictions with cost efficiencies in emerging hubs. By concentrating front-office and client-facing operations in Switzerland while migrating support functions to Bratislava and Vietnam, Bitcoin Suisse aims to preserve its Swiss regulatory reputation while scaling sustainably across multiple regions.
