Canton Foundation Grants RedStone 15.8M CC for CAPS Pricing Tool
The Canton Foundation approved a grant of nearly 15.8 million Canton Coin (CC) to RedStone to develop the Canton Access and Privacy Standard (CAPS), an open-source pricing framework for institutions on the Canton Network. The grant was worth approximately $1.55 million at the time of writing, when CC traded around $0.0979.
CAPS is designed to let institutions on Canton value transactions using a shared market-price reference without disclosing their individual settlement terms to data providers. Under the standard, RedStone will publish reference prices that can be used to calculate transaction values. The pricing calculations and licensing module will be released under the Apache 2.0 license, allowing other providers to adapt the technology.
Initial development will cover pricing for tokenized funds, private-market assets and structured products. “By supporting open-source initiatives like CAPS, the Foundation is helping establish a shared privacy and licensing framework that enables multiple data providers to serve the network,” said Viv Diwakar, head of the Canton Foundation.
RedStone has provided pricing data on Canton since December 2025 and works with ecosystem participants including Temple Digital Group. Canton Network said in a May blog post that it had onboarded more than 600 institutions, including Goldman Sachs, DTCC, BNY and Franklin Templeton, while processing approximately $9 trillion in monthly transaction volume. CoinGecko data listed CC’s market capitalization at $3.91 billion, with $23.23 million in trading volume over the previous 24 hours.
