Dtcpay Closes $25M Series A Round With SBI Group Backing

Singapore-based stablecoin payments company Dtcpay has completed a $25 million Series A funding round, with Japan's SBI Holdings joining as a strategic backer. SBI said Friday that it invested through two Singapore-based vehicles: SBI Ventures Asset and the SBI-NTU-Kyobo Digital Innovation Fund. Neither party disclosed the size of SBI's contribution or Dtcpay's post-money valuation.

The Series A began in April with a $10 million tranche led by Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia & India, with participation from Genedant Capital and existing investor Kwee Liong Tek. Dtcpay had previously raised $16.5 million in a pre-Series A round in June 2023. The fresh capital will fund expansion of Dtcpay's merchant network and product suite, including a revamped business portal and new consumer-facing features.

Dtcpay provides infrastructure that enables businesses and individuals to accept, store, and transact in stablecoins and fiat currencies. Its offerings include a real-time stablecoin-to-fiat conversion system, merchant payment terminals, and a Visa card that lets users spend supported stablecoins across the card network. The company holds a Major Payment Institution license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore and an Electronic Money Institution license in Luxembourg, positioning it among a small group of regulated stablecoin payment providers operating across multiple Asian jurisdictions.

For SBI, the investment aligns with its broader push to build a digital asset corridor between Japan and Southeast Asia. The deal comes as Dtcpay, formerly known as crypto payment firm Dtcpay, has shifted toward a stablecoin-only payments model, reflecting growing institutional appetite for regulated, fiat-pegged digital payment infrastructure in the region.
