Gemini and Apex Plan Crypto Prediction-Market Distribution Deal
Gemini and Apex Fintech Solutions have signed a non-binding letter of intent that could make Gemini Titan the exclusive regulated venue for crypto event contracts offered through Apex’s Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) network. Under the proposed arrangement, participating brokerages would use Gemini for the execution and clearing of crypto prediction markets, creating a new distribution channel for Gemini’s expanding derivatives business.
Apex provides trading and clearing infrastructure to hundreds of financial firms serving tens of millions of investors. The partnership would extend Gemini’s prediction-market reach to brokerage clients while adding event contracts to the companies’ existing relationship. Apex Clearing already provides custody and clearing for Gemini’s zero-commission U.S. equities offering, which launched in July.
Gemini has been building its regulated prediction-market business after receiving approval from the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission to operate a designated contract market in December 2025 and to clear derivatives in-house in April. The proposed deal remains subject to final agreements and other conditions, but it could position Gemini as a major infrastructure provider for brokerage-distributed crypto event contracts.
The announcement comes as U.S. prediction markets face growing legal scrutiny at the state level. Most recently, a Washington state judge ordered Kalshi to halt a broad range of event contracts in the state, rejecting the company’s argument that federal commodities law preempts state gambling laws.
