Janus Henderson, Centrifuge Launch Tokenized Nasdaq-100 Fund on Stellar
Janus Henderson and Centrifuge have launched JQQQ, a blockchain-based fund tracking the Nasdaq-100 Index on the Stellar network. The fund gives eligible professional investors outside the United States indirect exposure to the benchmark and uses Centrifuge’s tokenization infrastructure under a licensing agreement with Nasdaq.
JQQQ is structured as a segregated portfolio of a British Virgin Islands investment company rather than as a vehicle that directly owns the underlying stocks. The minimum investment is $100,000, according to The Wall Street Journal. The launch extends Janus Henderson’s onchain product lineup beyond U.S. Treasurys and structured credit; the asset manager said its institutional onchain strategies now exceed $1 billion.
The fund arrives as Stellar expands its institutional tokenization footprint. RWA.xyz reportedly ranks Stellar fourth among blockchains by distributed real-world asset value, with approximately $3.8 billion in tokenized assets, behind Ethereum, BNB Chain and Solana. Major issuers represented on the network include Spiko, Franklin Templeton and Ondo. Tradable plans to bring up to $1 billion in private credit assets to Stellar, with $500 million expected at launch.
Stellar is also included in a planned expansion of Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation’s tokenization service, with DTCC-connected assets expected in the first half of 2027. Potential offerings include U.S. Treasurys, major index ETFs and Russell 1000 stocks. Despite this institutional growth, Stellar’s XLM token was down roughly 16% year to date and trading near $0.17, according to CoinGecko.
