Janus Henderson Launches Tokenized Nasdaq-100 Fund on Stellar
Asset manager Janus Henderson and tokenization platform Centrifuge have launched JQQQ, a blockchain-based fund tracking the Nasdaq-100 on Stellar. The fund gives eligible professional investors outside the United States indirect exposure to the index through Centrifuge’s tokenization infrastructure, under a licensing agreement with Nasdaq.
JQQQ is structured as a segregated portfolio of a British Virgin Islands investment company and does not provide direct ownership of the underlying stocks. According to The Wall Street Journal, the minimum investment is $100,000. The launch extends Janus Henderson’s onchain product lineup beyond US Treasurys and structured credit; the asset manager says its institutional onchain strategies now exceed $1 billion.
The fund arrives as Stellar strengthens its position in institutional tokenization. The network ranks fourth among blockchains by distributed real-world asset value, with approximately $3.8 billion in tokenized assets, according to RWA.xyz. Stellar already hosts assets from issuers such as Spiko, Franklin Templeton and Ondo, while Tradable plans to bring up to $1 billion in private credit assets to the blockchain.
DTCC is also preparing to connect its tokenization service to Stellar, with tokenized assets potentially available in the first half of 2027. These could include US Treasurys, major index ETFs and Russell 1000 stocks. Despite Stellar’s growing tokenization activity, its native token XLM was down roughly 16% year to date at $0.17 at the time of publication, according to CoinGecko.
