Revolut disclosed that sensitive customer data—including passport copies, verification selfies, and full transaction histories—was exposed after the fintech responded to fraudulent requests sent from a legitimate government agency email domain. According to the company spokesperson, an unauthorized third party impersonated a government agency to submit the information requests, which initially passed Revolut's authentication checks. Once the scam was detected, Revolut blocked the sender's address, alerted the government agency involved, and notified affected customers, enforcement bodies, and financial regulators on Friday.
In AI industry news, Nvidia is reportedly in talks to invest up to $10 billion in Anthropic's upcoming IPO, which could raise as much as $100 billion and value the AI company at approximately $2 trillion, per Reuters. The potential deal would position Nvidia as an early strategic backer while deepening ties with one of its key chip customers. Meanwhile, Swiss crypto financial services firm Bitcoin Suisse is planning to relocate up to half of its Swiss workforce abroad as part of an international expansion strategy. Founded in Zug in 2013, the company offers crypto trading, custody, staking, and lending services. The restructuring reflects a broader shift among crypto firms seeking more favorable regulatory environments and operational flexibility outside Switzerland, where tightening rules have prompted several blockchain companies to reconsider their domestic footprint.
