Financial technology giant Revolut disclosed a data breach in which sensitive customer information—including passport copies, verification selfies, and full transaction histories—was exposed through a sophisticated impersonation scam. According to the company, an unauthorized third party submitted fraudulent information requests using a legitimate government agency email domain, which passed Revolut's authentication checks. After determining the requests were not authentic, Revolut blocked the address, notified affected customers on Friday, and alerted the relevant government agency, enforcement authorities, and financial regulators. A company spokesperson described the incident as a sophisticated external impersonation scam that exploited trust in official communication channels.
In separate news, Nvidia is reportedly in advanced discussions to invest up to $10 billion in Anthropic as the AI company prepares for what could be the largest IPO in history. Citing people familiar with the negotiations, Reuters reported that Anthropic is seeking to raise as much as $100 billion at a valuation near $2 trillion. The deal would position Nvidia as an early strategic backer while deepening ties between the chipmaker and one of its key customers in the rapidly expanding AI sector. Meanwhile, Swiss-based crypto financial services firm Bitcoin Suisse announced plans to relocate up to half of its Swiss workforce abroad as part of a broader international expansion. Founded in Zug in 2013, the company offers crypto trading, custody, staking, and lending services. The restructuring reflects ongoing shifts in the European crypto industry as firms seek more favorable regulatory environments and operational flexibility beyond Switzerland's borders.
