Trueo Prediction Market Leaves Base for Ethereum Mainnet

Prediction market platform Trueo announced it will migrate from Coinbase's Base L2 to Ethereum mainnet, citing broader integration potential and plans to build a more credibly neutral oracle system. The project originally launched on Base in March 2025, when elevated mainnet gas fees made L2 deployment the practical choice for an early-stage application.

"Ethereum is the best chain for the most credibly neutral and truthful oracle system and prediction markets," said Trueo co-founder Lumberg on X. The team explained that while Base offered a suitable launch environment, the long-term vision for Trueo requires the broader composability and permissionless infrastructure that only Ethereum mainnet can provide. "The final form of Trueo is to be a platform that is widely adopted, broadly integrated, fully permissionless, mostly immutable, and highly credible. Ethereum is the best fit for this combination of properties," the project stated.

According to DefiLlama data, Trueo currently ranks as the 14th-largest onchain prediction market with a total value locked (TVL) of $795,687. Following the migration, the team's priorities will include attracting additional liquidity and rolling out the next generation of its oracle, the mechanism used to verify real-world outcomes and resolve market positions.

The move comes amid growing institutional interest in Ethereum infrastructure and ongoing discussions about block times and wallet standards across the Base and Ethereum ecosystems. Prediction markets have seen surging adoption in 2026, with Chainalysis reporting that the 2026 World Cup alone generated roughly $20 billion in blockchain prediction market volume.
