Telegram is packed with features most users never discover. Here are 15 tips to level up your Telegram experience.
1. Schedule Messages
Long-press the send button to schedule a message for a specific date and time. Great for reminders or sending across time zones.
2. Silent Messages
Long-press send and choose "Send Without Sound" to message someone without triggering a notification on their end.
3. Slow Mode in Groups
Group admins can enable Slow Mode to limit how often members can send messages (from 30 seconds to 1 hour intervals).
4. Custom Folders
Go to Settings > Folders to organize your chats into tabs like Work, Friends, Channels, Bots. You can set auto-sorting rules.
5. Edit Sent Messages
Made a typo? Long-press any message you sent (within 48 hours) and tap Edit. The edited message won't show a notification.
6. Global Search
The search bar at the top searches across all your chats, messages, and shared media. Use "from:username" to filter by sender.
7. Save Messages to Yourself
Your "Saved Messages" chat acts as a personal bookmark. Forward anything there for quick access later.
8. Pin Multiple Messages
Unlike most apps, Telegram lets you pin multiple messages in a chat. Pinned messages get a special header notification.

10. Find Your Telegram ID
Need your numeric User ID for bots or developer tools? Message @userid_checkbot and it'll show your ID instantly.

Send a single standard emoji and it becomes an animated, full-screen effect. Try sending a single heart, fire, or thumbs up.
12. Nearby People & Groups
Go to Contacts > Find People Nearby to discover Telegram users and groups in your area. You control your visibility.
13. Lock Telegram with Passcode
Settings > Privacy > Passcode Lock lets you add an extra PIN or biometric lock to the app, separate from your phone lock.
14. Auto-Delete Messages
Set messages to auto-delete after 1 day, 1 week, or 1 month in any chat via the chat's profile menu.
15. Multiple Accounts
Telegram supports up to 3 accounts on a single device. Go to Settings and tap "Add Account" at the bottom.
